Front Door Rx

Take a look at the door that you walk through each day, is it in need of a bit of sprucing up, some Rx if you will. Spring is here (for the most part) and it’s time to kick off the winter blahs and make that front door more welcoming. You’ll  feel better when you walk through it in the evening. You can start by giving the area around it a good sweeping including the steps and sidewalk that lead to it. Clear any clutter and clean the front door thoroughly. Get the most bang for you buck by painting  that newly cleaned front door a color that coordinates with the color of your house.

House Beautiful suggests cool colors such as Tulip Red or Folly Green or Sunburst among others to brighten up the front door.

Once you’re done painting you can add plants in colored pots that coordinate with your new door and don’t forget a new doormat. Want an easy  and cheaper way to add your house numbers to your front door, try a weekend project from Martha Stewart.com that incorporates them into a coir doormat. Very Cool!
