It’s summer and it’s hot. Now is a good time to update your summer bedroom look to reflect a cooler feel.
Kevin says…To update the bedroom for summer, select colors that evoke the lightness of spring and summer, such as pinks and yellows. Fanciful details that won’t overwhelm include ticking stripes, casual embroidery, and delicate lacework.
And…Do away with the extra layers. Clean and store comforters and pillows, as well as the dust ruffle. Cool cotton fabrics are best for sheets. The resulting pared-down bed, however, doesn’t need to be boring. Consider playful hues and patterns, such as stripes or scattered blooms. A summer-weight silk quilt folded at the foot of the bed keeps it feeling dressed and can be used when summer nights cool down.
